On July 10, 2010 the Chairman of the CPRF Central Committee G.A. Zyuganov met with Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nong Duc Manh, who was on the state visit to Russia at the invitation of the President of Russia.
Addressing G.A. Zyuganov, Comrade Nong Duc Manh stressed that his visit to Russia at the head of the Vietnamese delegation coincided with a number of important events that marked this year: 65 years of the Great Victory, 65 Years of Independence of Vietnam, 60 years from the date of establishment of diplomatic relations between the USSR and Vietnam, 35 years from the date of the complete liberation of Vietnam from American imperialism, 80 years since the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
In his turn, G.A. Zyuganov said that he was very pleased to welcome faithful, proven in battles Vietnamese friends. The CPRF and its faction in the Sate Duma have always contributed to the successful development of the relationship between Russia and Vietnam.
Comrade Nong Duc Manh spoke about the socio-economic situation of Vietnam.
In mid 1980’s the leadership of the CPV initiated reforms in the economy, maintaining the course of socialism building. This policy became known as “Doi Moi”, translated into Russian as ‘Renovation’. As the result the alloy of market and planned economy elements provided the Vietnamese economy with significant raise in living standards, maintaining and strengthening of the armed forces, implementation of several large-scale economic projects, such as full electrification, development of communications and the Internet, increasing the export of rice, coffee and other agricultural products, reconstruction of roads, mass private housing construction, creation of modern infrastructure for foreign tourism, the development of domestic and international airlines.
At present the Communist Party of Vietnam prepares for its 11th Congress, which will summarize the past decade and will outline the country’s development programme until 2020. It is supposed that Vietnam will become one of the industrially advanced countries of the world. Although today, according to the UN estimates, socialist Vietnam is among the ten fastest growing states in the world.
Nong Duc Manh stressed that he highly evaluated the CPRF results in the years of ordeal and wished the Russian communists further progress in enhancing the role of the Communist Party at the political arena in Russia.
The Chairman of the CPRF Central Committee G.A. Zyuganov also noted the success of the Vietnamese communists, economical achievements of the SRV, which under the world capitalist crisis proved to be one of the locomotives, building on the positive dynamics of development.
During the meeting the issues of inter-party cooperation were discussed. The leader of Vietnamese Communists invited Gennady Zyuganov to visit officially the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at the head of the party delegation. The invitation was accepted with gratitude.
At the conclusion G.A. Zyuganov presented to the Secretary General of the CPV Central Committee Nong Duc Manu commemorative medal of the CPRF Central Committee to commemorate the 140th anniversary of Lenin’s birth.
