Condolecences over the death of Mirjam Vire-Tuominen

A letter of condolences
Over the death of Mirjam Vire-Tuominen
Dear friends,
With deep sorrow in our hearts we received the sad news about the death of the prominent public figure of Finland Mirjam Vire-Tuominen. An ardent fighter for peace, an active participant of the international women’s movement, General Secretary of the Women’s International Democratic Federation she always showed an example of courage to millions of  champions for peace all over the world. She was a true friend of our country and on repeated occasions visited the Soviet Union where she was well known and much loved. We were happy to know her personally and were friends for many years. She speared no effort to bring into practice the lofty ideals of humanity.
Those who worked with her, comrades and friends of hers will always keep in their hearts and minds the kind memories about this wonderful person.
