The second stage of the XIV Congress of CPRF was held in Moscow region on December 17, 2011. It was attended by the delegates from all regional party organizations.
Chairman of the CC CPRF Gennady Zyuganov made a report called “On the verge of great changes!” He gave a comprehensive analysis of the social and economic situation in the country and in the world as well as an evaluation of the current political events against the background of the essential weakening of the “United Russia” position after the parliamentary elections. He also presented the main provisions of the CPRF creative programme for the coming presidential elections.
1-st Deputy of the CC CPRF Chairman Ivan Melnikov made a report on the outcome of the elections to the State Duma.
Voting by secret ballot unanimously proposed Gennady Zyuganov as the candidate for the post of the president of the Russian Federation.
